Area residents are cordially invited to participate in the reIMAGINE the Library/Planning Open House. This event will allow attendees to browse ideas and share their preferences as the Vernon Area Public Library embarks on a journey of planning for building and grounds improvements.

According to a post on the Vernon Area Public Library's Facebook page, two planning open house sessions will be conducted by associates from RATIO Design. These consultants are initiating a conceptual study for redesigning, remodeling, and possibly adding an extension to the existing library building. The sessions are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 28 from 1-2 p.m., and Monday, Jan. 29 from 7-8:30 p.m.

The same Facebook post further informs that residents can attend either session to meet the planning team, review vision boards, share ideas, ask questions, and express their desires and priorities.

In addition to these open house sessions, targeted listening sessions with stakeholder groups including community leaders, English as a Second Language students, families, and teens will also be held according to another update on the Vernon Area Public Library's Facebook page. A special Early Childhood Focus Group will convene during a Pop-Up Storytime on Monday. This unique gathering aims to facilitate discussions between architects and families about what they would like from the library. No signup is required for this storytime event slated for Jan. 29 from 10-11 a.m.

For additional details and an online survey regarding this initiative, community members are encouraged to visit http://VAPLD.info/LibraryPlan as per information provided in another post on the Vernon Area Public Library's Facebook page.
