The Illinois Treasurer’s Office has announced the launch of the 2024 Cream of the Crop Photo Contest, inviting young Illinois photographers to participate in showcasing their perspective on agriculture in the state. According to the Treasurer’s Office, this contest provides students with a creative platform to express their vision through photography.

As stated by the Illinois Treasurer’s Office, submissions for the contest can be made electronically through the official website at www.CreamoftheCropContest.com. Participants are encouraged to submit their entries by June 14, 2024, with each student allowed to enter up to two photos.

The Cream of the Crop Photo Contest, which is a component of the Illinois State Treasurer’s Ag Invest program, aims to highlight the innovative and scenic images that portray agriculture in Illinois. The top photographs will be selected in three age-based categories: ages 8‑10, 11‑14, and 15-18.

Winning entries will receive recognition by being featured in Ag Invest marketing material, the upcoming Cream of the Crop calendar, and at the 2024 Illinois State Fair. Additionally, the top winners in each age category will be awarded Bright Start College Savings scholarships, as announced by the Treasurer’s Office.

The contest serves as an opportunity for young photographers in Illinois to showcase their talent and contribute to promoting the significance of agriculture in the state.
